About Ellenby Handmade Soap
I have to credit my daughter, Sarah, for the spark that became Ellenby Handmade. Sarah took up soap-making as a hobby several years ago, and took up my kitchen as her base of operations. There was a flurry of new activity in my kitchen, processes and ingredients I hadn't seen before, and wonderful fragrances (literally) under my nose. How could I not be interested?
Well, Sarah moved on to other pursuits - but I kept making soap. We used it at home. I gave gifts of soap to the extended family and friends. After a while I started to get requests for custom soap orders and gift baskets...
And now, 8 years (and many, many batches of soap) after Sarah's kitchen invasion, with Ellenby Handmade soap selling briskly in local gift shops, it seemed time to make the soap more widely available.
My hope is to give everyone an alternative to commercial soaps that's uniquely beautiful and fragrant, but ALSO gentle and good for your skin.

How to Keep Handmade Soap
- Store in cool, dry area
Do not store in sealed plastic containers or plastic bags. All handmade soaps must "breathe".
* In hot, humid conditions, high glycerin soaps will actively draw moisture from the air, causing surface condensation. This is normal, and will not affect soap quality.
Important Notes
Young children should be watched while using Ellenby soaps. Some fragrances are so "tasty" that they may try to eat the soap.
- Do not ingest Ellenby Handmade soaps.
- Do not use on large areas of broken skin.
As with all skin care products, if itching, burning, or redness develops, rinse with clear water and discontinue use.
Minor variations in shapes and colors should be expected, as Ellenby soap is hand-made in small batches. Every batch is tested for mildness and quality - not on animals, but on Ellen's family and friends!
